WE THINK, OPERATE AND SUCCeED LOCALLY

SSA uses retail operations to connect with visitors in meaningful ways, complement our culinary programs, advancing our partners’ mission of conservation and sustainability, and — most importantly — generate additional revenue for our partners.

Our multi-faceted approach to retail includes:

RESPONSIBLY SOURCED PRODUCTS

SSA’s approach to sourcing products for our gift shops requires us to consider multiple aspects:

  • Local – Sourcing local products that speak directly to our partners’ local market and the exhibits within each attraction gives the store a feeling of community and continuity with its surroundings; it becomes an extension of the attraction’s story and mission.
  • Sustainability – Whether it is leading our partners to go plastic-free in our gift shops or promoting eco-friendly collections throughout our operations, we are always looking for ways to become a more sustainable operation.
  • Conservation Marketplace – Developing holistic conservation programs that enhance livelihoods within local communities and that support our clients conservation initiatives.

ENVIRONMENTAL DESIGN

How a store looks, how it feels, and how it flows all play an important role in the guests’ perception of the overall attraction experience. We create stores for everyone — welcoming to children and adults alike. We want a store to be about more than the product. We want it to be about a series of experiences that make it more than a store.

MARKETPLACE

MARKETPLACE

In the last decade, consumerism has broken down walls between food and retail experiences. Today, “marketplace” concepts prevail, blending the unique aspects of dining and shopping into a single immersive experience. Because SSA can provide both food and retail services, SSA is expressly positioned to deliver combination marketplaces the right way.

Retail and food are better together.
