Technology Accessibility Statement

Introduction and Commitment

We are committed to providing equitable access to our mobile application and kiosks to all Coloradans and continue to improve our user experience by applying ongoing accessibility efforts to bring our websites, mobile application, and kiosks up to ADA and WCAG version 2.1, level AA guidelines. These guidelines help make technology accessible not only to users with sensory, cognitive, and mobility disabilities, but ultimately to all users, regardless of ability. Our efforts are part of a meaningful change in making our services inclusive and accessible.

How We Are Implementing Accessibility

Progress to Date

For our mobile ordering application, our accessibility improvements in the past twelve (12) months include updating our color contrast for better accessibility, providing a screen reader, adding keyboard navigation, updating form accessibility, incorporating semantic HTML, providing more readable fonts, implementing a focus and zoom feature, and adding touch targets.

Our kiosk software has been updated to provide accessible color contrast, increased time outs for screens, moving the language selector to our starting screen, form accessibility, additional readable fonts and touch targets. We are currently in the process of adding voiceover to our kiosks and working to improve screen navigation accessibility.

Testing and Remediation

  • We conduct automated testing of our mobile application for accessibility and quality assurance.
  • We continue to test and remediate our digital products in an effort to provide continuous improvement of our kiosks and application.
  • In addition, we make use of tools such as the Web Accessibility Evaluation Tool (WAVE)Contrast Checker by WebAIM and other automated and manual testing tools.

Procurement

We are focused on buying, creating and using accessible products. We test all hardware and software we receive to ensure digital products meet established technical accessibility standards and will work internally and with our vendors if we become aware through testing that any updates need to be made to digital products to meet WCAG version 2.1 level AA guidelines. We are able to demonstrate our accessibility features to our clients and potential clients to ensure equitable access for all.

Website Validation

We regularly use third-party testing tools to receive feedback on our websites’ accessibility functionality. In any instance where a deficiency is noted, we work to bring our websites up to the standard indicated by the testing tool.

Training for Digital Content Creators and Web Editors

Members of our digital design and engineering team have participated in accessibility training. We are exploring adding further training as courses are evaluated.
